LORI LOCK
Owner & CEO
I’ve been working with seniors for most of my life; helping them brings me a great deal of joy and satisfaction. I've had the opportunity to work with some fantastic people who have helped influence and shape the future of my life. One was an internist who still made house calls. He was an amazing teacher and helped to begin filling my toolbox for future endeavors.
Later I learned to build great teams in a very competitive home care equipment market, leading our teams to victory and placing in the top 5-10% of the company for about 15 years.
Life happens to all of us and I took some time off to work through a family situation. When I went back to work, I wanted to try something new so I became a licensed insurance agent. I loved what I learned and the clients but that work did not fill my tank.
I've seen gaps in care available for our seniors for years. They often don't want to ask their family and friends for help. After the encouragement of a dear friend and blessings from my husband, I decided to take a leap of faith in 2019 and open my own business. I did this part-time around my day job until March of 2020. I then left my day job and went full time with 5 Star Concierge, LLC.
I love what I do and the people I serve. I’m a wife, a mom and a nana. My family is the center of my universe. I’ve been a Girl Scout leader, a Boy Scout leader, helped in classrooms and was a principal player on a team that got local bond levies passed to improve our schools.

Caring and Compassionate
LEE ENRY ERICKSON
Lee Erickson joined our 5 Star Concierge team in June of 2022 bringing with her an eclectic background that includes being a freelance consultant in public relations, marketing, online community management, the co-director of a vision therapy clinic, and an underwriting accounts representative for two nonprofit community radio stations until she retired. Lee has served as a volunteer with nonprofit organizations such as the Alzheimer's Association, BRING and Eugene Mission, and currently volunteers with the Oregon AARP Community Action Team and Fraud Watch Network, The Ethel, and Love for Lane County.
Before joining 5 Star Concierge, during her retirement years, Lee’s focus was on the care of her aging mother whose health was failing due to the complications of Alzheimer's, her stepfather during his illness, and her husband who was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and passed away spring of 2022. After such great losses, Lee prayed to God that she would once again find purpose, to be of service to others, all the while supplementing her income working part time. This led her to a serendipitous meeting with the owner, Lori Lock of 5 Star Concierge, who invited Lee to join our team to assist with community outreach and serve our clients as a personal assistant. An answer to prayer!
Lee says: "I love being with my family first and foremost, and simply being at home with my cat, Gracie, and tending to my garden. My other interests are volunteering, creative projects, aromatherapy, nutrition, cooking healthy ethnic cuisine, walking, reading, writing poetry, photography, and traveling."

Lee reflects: "This is the best we can give... that we care for others as we wish to be cared for ourselves by first being kind to our body, gentle with our mind, and patient with our heart.... and then pass that same daily, mindful practice of kindness, gentleness, and patience along to others with compassion."
PHIL POCHUREK
Phil Pochurek grew up in Corvallis, Oregon. Phil considers himself “a little old school.” He doesn't smoke or drink and says that “if you’re not fifteen minutes early you’re late.” He has been a paper mill worker, a resort manager, a landscaper, a caregiver, and is a poet and author.
Phil started mowing lawns when he was eleven years old, and had an Oregonian paper route every morning at six o’clock rain or shine from the seventh grade through high school. Phil’s father passed away when he was eighteen. He tried a little college then joined the workforce at Brand S Plywood in Corvallis at age twenty, working there for thirteen and a half years until the economy stalled in 1984. He then went to work for American Can in August of 1984, which became James River then Georgia Pacific in Halsey (OR).
Phil bought his first house in Eugene (OR), married, and had a daughter in 1989. He worked there until 2008 in their secondary fiber plant. From there he moved up the McKenzie River and managed The Wayfarer Resort for eighteen months; crossed the river and became the caretaker of a beautiful home on Brown’s Hole for eighteen more months until he returned to Springfield where he would live the next five years. It was during that time Phil worked for New Horizons In-Home Care for 18 months and got his feet wet as a caregiver. In 2017, Phil and his partners started a landscaping business and moved to Woodburn (OR). After four years there, Phil returned to Eugene in 2021, alone. Having found himself
with an excess of time, empathy, and compassion he found his way to Lori Lock and Five Star Concierge.
Phil says: “The rewards I have discovered in caring and doing for our senior clients is priceless! The wisdom and grace I receive from helping them with their needs has been rewarding and fulfilling. Through the careful guidance of Lori and 5 Star Concierge,
at last I have finally found my purpose.”

Nanette joins our 5 Star team with her experience personally assisting her own mother. She provided in-home care for her aging and chronically ill mother for several years. She particularly enjoyed meal planning, shopping, and cooking nutritious meals for her mother. By keeping her house clean with the dishes and laundry done, her mother was relieved from two tasks she did not enjoy doing.
Patient, highly organized, and experienced in providing senior care are attributes Nanette brings to our 5 Star Team.
Nanette says: "When I'm is not working, my passions are traveling, camping, and cooking international dishes I have sampled on my travels overseas."
BILL LOCK
Bill Lock was born in Illinois just outside the Chicago area in cornfield country. He was fortunate to be able to travel world wide with his parents while he was in high school. He graduated high school there and went to a couple different colleges majoring in accounting.
Bill went to work for a liquor wholesaler as credit manager and purchasing agent and worked there for nine years until they went out of business. Turns out he was working for the Mafia... so he went back to school and got a degree in landscape design. He then moved to the Kansas City, MO area and worked for a nursery/landscape company.
Bill moved to Bandon (OR) and went to work for a home medical equipment company, which specialized in the respiratory end of the business. He ended up working there for twenty years, living in Bandon, Coos Bay, and finally transferring to Eugene. Most of his time was spent in warehouse management while overseeing/managing the drivers and home delivery schedules. He then worked his way up to become the manager in Eugene.
Bill left there and after a year of trying his hand at a working from home scheme, he went to work for another home medical equipment company for 5 years. He retired from there to help his wife, Lori, with 5 Star Concierge.
Bill says: "I like animals (we have 2 dogs), hiking, and family, playing with our kids and grandkids. I have played a lot of golf, scuba-dived, hang-glided, parachuted, zip-lined, done a lot of camping, played a lot of basketball, and enjoy the great outdoors."
CASIE JOSEPH
Casie Joseph started caregiving in 1989, caring for a young female quadriplegic. In 1994, she was a personal caregiver for an elderly woman who suffered from dementia. In 1999, she moved to Central Oregon where she became the administrator for Rosetta Senior Living. In 2016, She moved to Medford and worked for Home Instead, caring for the elderly that included: Alzheimer's, dementia, and those recovering from major surgery.
Casie says: "I have many hobbies, including sewing and crocheting. I enjoy day trips to the coast, and being with my children and seven grandchildren."
KATHY GIBBS
I am a third generation Oregonian who has traveled widely yet can assure you that “there’s no place like home!” Having spent both personal and professional time in countries like Japan, Korea, Thailand, Mexico, Turkey, UK, and Canada, it is clear to me that The Pacific Northwest is where I want to be.In 2004, I received my Master’s of Social work (MSW) from Portland State University. At that time, I had completed ten years as a manager/supervisor in a nationally accredited home visitation program for first time parents called Healthy Families America offering support, information and services to families in Marion and Polk counties.
I also had the privilege to travel to Japan to present our program to multiple prefectures from across the country. In 2013, I “retired” for the first time, but not for long. Alongside tennis, travel and learning to play the flute, I soon found myself substitute teaching at Oak Hill, a small, private school in Eugene, where my skills and sensitivities were called upon to serve a whole new population. In recent years, I found plenty of things to occupy my time and give me personal satisfaction but it was only last year, 2023, when fate intervened to redirect me to my current professional passion, working for 5-Star Concierge as a Personal Assistant. I cannot believe how fortunate I was to cross paths with someone from 5-Star who introduced me to the unique and invaluable work that they do for adults in need of such services.
I see my role working for 5-Star as a very special and valuable one. I get to provide a range of services and support to individuals, and indirectly to their families, who are dealing with multiple and varied challenges. I appreciate the role that I have as it gives me the chance to work within my own value system regarding helping others in a nonjudgmental and caring manner. In many ways, I get as much benefit from them as they get from me.On a personal level, to know me is to also know how much I value good health and fitness at all stages of life. In that regard, I am an avid tennis player, for fun and competitively. I love to run, hike, travel in our RV with my husband and participate actively in classes at our YMCA and Adult Activity Centers. In addition, I am immersed in the varied stages of life, both joys and challenges, as I treasure my time with our two young grandsons while also watching my elderly father grapple with dementia in his final years of life. Again, being a 5-Star Personal Assistant is exactly what I should be doing at this stage in my life and I treasure this opportunity.

Christine is originally from Los Angeles and moved to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon to study Sports Business. Her career included managing a fight gym and then became an operations manager of a niche fitness studio.
It was a joy for Christine to mix her love of fitness and customer service. When COVID hit, Christine needed a change and decided to relocate back to Eugene to be closer to friends. She joined 5 Star Concierge in January of 2023 after meeting with Lori and learning more about 5 Star's services. TESTIMONIAL
Satisfied Clients
At 5 Star Concierge it is our mission to give our clients the best care we can provide by working with them or their loved ones to access their needs and create personalized services that specifically meets their non-medical needs. Here's what one of our clients has to say about his experience using our services and working with our team. *****
Last year my wife and I decided to move closer to her family. My wife and I found a suitable home for us, which we remodeled. Unfortunately not long after we moved in, my wife passed away. I put everything I owned into storage and went to live with my brother and his wife in Colorado to receive medical treatment and to heal. In time I decided to move back to the home my wife and I had purchased in Oregon. My daughter arranged for the team of 5 Star Concierge to unload and unpack boxes, move in and arrange my furnishings and decor to stage my home for my return. 5 Star Concierge did an excellent job turning my empty house into a warm and inviting home ready for me to return with just a turn of the key. I am grateful for the care they took including setting up my kitchen and stocking my refrigerator and pantry with staples. 5 Star Concierge can be an excellent resource for seniors that need help.
